The Schenectady Greenmarket is looking for volunteers to help us provide local food to our community. You can help out one Sunday or several Sundays if you're available!
We are looking for volunteers to assist our Market Managers with opening and closing the market, explaining market rules, answering questions from customers and vendors, and creating a fun and safe market experience. Market Volunteers help provide on the ground support to ensure markets run smoothly. Please see below for a list of Market Volunteer responsibilities.
Sunday volunteer roles:
- Market Assistant – Support market manager with administrative tasks. Interact positively with vendors
Assistant Cashier or Cashier – Support Schenectady Greenmarket customers with POS transactions and EBT customers with the loading of their Double Up Cards
Food Box Assistants – Assist in the setting up of the Food Box table and prepare for deliveries. Pick up food items from vendors. Guide customers in choosing items and purchasing their Food Box Package
