Our friends at South End Children's Café need your help!
What is South End Children's Café?
The mission of the South End Children's Cafe is to impact food security, address food equality and food justice, enhance academic success and positively influence the physical and mental health of children residing in the South End of Albany, New York by offering free, healthy dinner time meals along with homework help, academic enrichment, mentoring, exercise and participation in the arts Monday through Friday. Community volunteers join the children daily, assisting with school projects, homework, goal setting and acquiring needed resources for good health and overall wellness. Family Members are invited to participate in all of the programs and to dine with the children in a family style atmosphere.
The South End Children's Cafe is fiscally sponsored by Streams of Dreams.
Project Description:
South End Children's Café is still in need of collecting the following items and will be accepting donations on Thursday November 19th between 6:00-7:00pm at 25 Warren St Albany NY 12202.
Items being collected are:
- Fresh and canned fruits and vegetables
- Rice
- Peanut Butter
- Jelly
- Cereal
- Granola Bars
- Laundry Detergent
- Feminine Care products
- Shampoo
- Body Wash
- Toothpaste
- Taco kits
- canned chicken or tuna
- toilet paper
- pasta
- pasta sauce
