Food Connect Mobile Outreach is a mobile produce stand. Staff and volunteers bring free fresh produce into the community. Food Connect aims to promote healthy-eating while increasing access to local food resources.
*Food Connect runs EVERY THURSDAY with the exception of school breaks (following the Watervliet School District) and inclement weather.*

Role Description: Individuals are in charge of picking up the produce from the Regional Food Bank for the Food Connect Mobile Outreach sites of the day. One of the two individuals picking up produce must be cleared to drive the Food Pantries’ vehicle. Individuals will pick out the desired amount of produce in the Regional Food Bank warehouse. The Food Pantries’ vehicle will be backed up by the cleared individual into the loading dock. Finally, individuals will load the produce for the day’s sites into the Food Pantries’ vehicle.
Time Commitment: 1.5-2 hours
Participation Requirements:
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Must be able to lift 40 pounds or more
- Clean driving license (preferred)
Application and Screening Process:
- Driving record check
- Personal interview
- Must watch the OSHA lifting video
