Our After-School Programs, in partnership with the Schenectady City School District, include Boys & Girls Clubs staff and SCSD teachers who provide enrichment, recreational, and academic support activities for students afterschool.
Volunteer support is needed to help with homework power hour and hosting enrichment activities for children ages 5-11. Recurring participation is encouraged - at least two shifts per month. Our young students will learn and grow best when they have the same mentors guiding them regularly and can build relationships.
A great way to support this program is through a Union College club, team, or organization. Boys & Girls Clubs welcomes Union student organizations to sign up together and build programming for the enrichment hour based on the mission, interests, and skills of the group members. For example, Gaming Club may wish to bring different board games to play each week.
