Did you know that an estimated one billion pounds of pumpkin are sent to the landfill each year? Let's stop that waste in its tracks and compost them instead!
Help Schenectady City School District's Farm to Schools program as they turn pumpkins into compost! Volunteers are needed to guide school-aged children to destroy pumpkins (safely!) so they can help nourish gardens.
We'll have cider and donuts from Stewarts, community tables to learn from, and games to play!
Smashed pumpkins will be transported to a composting facility and kept out of the landfills
