Who We Are

USCRI—a 501(c)3 not-for-profit organization—was founded in 1911 and contracts with the Federal government to resettle refugees from all over the world. The Albany Field Office opened in 2005.

What We Do

USCRI Albany‘s goals are to meet the many urgent needs of new arrivals, to assist refugees in obtaining early employment and achieving self-sufficiency, and to nurture community integration. In collaboration with State and local partners, USCRI Albany works toward these goals by providing case management, employment assistance, Family Support Services, and English Language Training. Our office also offers assistance in filing Adjustment of Status (“Green Card”) applications, Naturalization applications, and provides other legal services—these services are open to any eligible person in the community, whether or not they were resettled by USCRI.
