

Who We Are
Circles of Mercy is an out-reach center for those in need and is a sponsored ministry of the Sisters of Mercy. Serving the City of Rensselaer Community for the past 26 years in the spirit and tradition of the Sisters of Mercy and of their First Sister - Catherine McAuley. Circles offers a variety of services and programs to anyone in need, especially women and women with children living in or near the City of Rensselaer.
What We Do
Circles provides the following programs and services to residents in the city of Rensselaer: Free Income Tax Preparation (VITA) for Low Income Tax Payers and Seniors by appointment, Computer Training, Social Service Resource and Referral Coordination, Assistance with Resume Preparation / Job Searching, Catherine’s Closet Thrift Shop: Which includes Cate’s Kids and Baby Blessings Programs, Layettes and Baby Supplies. We offer Back to School Supplies, Christmas Adopt-a-Family, Children’s Easter Baskets, mentoring, support for job interviews, social service and medical appointments. Circles also operates Catherine’s Closet, a thrift shop staffed entirely by Circles’ volunteers most who are women, dedicated to helping customers find clean, attractive, gently used clothing at affordable prices. Clothing grants are also available to qualified clients and families. The Closet offers men’s, women’s and children’s clothing, shoes and certain household items.
