The Schenectady Community Home Inc. aka Joan Nicole Prince Home opened it’s doors in 2006, after years of fundraising to open the Home. The Home was opened to help bridge the gap between end of life care and individuals in need, allowing terminally ill individuals at the end of life to die in a home environment surrounded by their loved ones and trained professionals. The home is named after Joan Nicole (Keating) Prince, a Niskayuna, NY native and young mother of four, “Joanie” who lost her battle with cancer. In her honor, her husband gave a notable donation which allowed the Home to originally open in 2006.
