Who We Are

ABOUT THE GLOVE THEATRE: Built in 1914, The Glove Theatre is a historic venue that has been entertaining our community for over 110 years. From its history as a Vaudeville and Opera house, then headquarters of the Schine movie theater empire - to today's diverse mix of programming including concerts, theatrical performances, educational events, films, and more, The Glove continues to be the cultural heart of downtown Gloversville. Saved from demolition in the 1990s by passionate community members, The Glove has been run by dedicated volunteers ever since.

What We Do

OUR MISSION: To establish an accessible platform of expression for the arts that engages, entertains, and educates the regional community to foster talent and economic development opportunities for the Southern Adirondack and Mohawk Valley regions.
