The Sociology Club at Union College is dedicated to providing a safe and informative environment for all students interested in the study of sociology. We hope to foster a deep understanding of societal structures, cultural dynamics, and social issues through both open dialogue and community engagement. By hosting at least one significant community service event each term, members have the opportunity to develop skills for careers in human services, volunteering, fundraising, and interacting within our community. Much of this work centers around the 6 Values of Social Work: service, social justice, dignity and worth of a person, importance of human relationships, integrity, and competence. In addition to these off-campus endeavors, students have the opportunity to engage in critical discussions and explore the complex dynamics that shape human interactions and institutions. We strive to contribute thoughtfully and effectively to create a more just and equitable society.
