Volunteer: Book Mending with The RED Bookshelf

Join Messa House and the Idol Magazine to mend donated children’s books and restore the magic of reading! The RED Bookshelf takes donations of gently used children's books. Working with volunteers from throughout our community, we recondition these books, making them look special and appealing to children. These books are then placed onto bright red shelves around our community. The goal is for children to see the books, find one of interest to them, and take take it home to enjoy and add to their personal library. Research consistently shows a direct correlation between the number of books in the home, and literacy proficiency. Our goal is to give all children access to owning books.
