Food Connect Mobile Outreach is a mobile produce stand. Staff and volunteers bring free fresh produce into the community. Food Connect aims to promote healthy-eating while increasing access to local food resources.
*Food Connect runs EVERY THURSDAY with the exception of school breaks (following the Watervliet School District) and inclement weather.*

Role Description: This individual’s role is to provide customer service to our guests, help out wherever is needed on site, and to answer any questions that may arise about our organization. This individual must:
- Greet guests
- Give out bags packed with resource information. Each bag should have:
- A Basic Needs Resource Guide
- A list of the local pantries
- A Food Connect flyer with the times and locations for the current sites
- Point out the resources in the bag to the guests
- Answer any questions/ comments that arise at the site
- Help out wherever is needed:
- First, help bring in the supplies (bins, bags, tables)
- Second, help bring in produce
- Break down unwanted cardboard
Time Commitment: 2.5 hours
Participation Requirements:
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Must be able to lift 40 pounds or more
- Clean driving license (preferred)
Application and Screening Process:
- Driving record check
- Personal interview
- Must watch the OSHA lifting video
