Event details: A “Day of Simple Giving” works with over 2000 volunteers. People of all ages- individuals, families, businesses, community groups, civic groups, religious organizations and nonprofits- come together to coordinate, create and assemble thousands of basic necessities. Each year we gave away over $30,000 worth of donations.
Day of the event: Volunteers assemble and create thousands of practical gifts specific to the needs in our communities: everyday essentials such as personal care items, household basics, items for local food pantries, community meals and literacy programs.
Sharing the donations: We distribute donations to low-income individuals and families, shelters, Books for Troops, Schuyler Inn, Focus Food Pantries, South End Children's Cafe, Albany City Schools and many others.
