The New York Immigration Coalition is hosting a Deja que ICE se derrita event on Sunday, April 27th in Albany! The event will include a Know Your Rights workshop, empowerment sessions, distributing essential resources, connecting with local community groups, and ending with a Zumba session.
We are looking for volunteers for the following:
- 12pm - 3pm: Set up - Volunteers will support with setting up the space by moving chairs, tables and materials.
- 3pm - 4:30pm: Registration (Spanish Speakers Required) - Volunteer will sign in attendees and distribute materials for event.
- 5pm - 9:30pm: Food Distribution & Breakdown Crew - Volunteers will support with setting up food, distributing food, clean up and pack materials.
- 6pm - 8pm: Resource Distribution - Volunteers will distribute giveaways to community members
- 3pm - 5pm: Floater - Helps in assisting with any activities that may be needed
- 5pm - 8pm: Floater - Helps in assisting with any activities that may be needed
- 2:30pm - 8:30pm: Safety Marshals - Volunteers support the NYIC in facilitating an event and keeping the event’s participants safe. Marshals work together to observe any potential risks. They will warn event organizers of potential risks, and if ICE arrives, they will let event organizers know. **Volunteers should be non-vulnerable, which means they should not be at risk for deportation**
