Opportunities From: Union College Community Connections

Responsibilities
▪ Supervise a small group of children. (2-4 years)
▪ Engage them in play while their parents are in English classes.
▪ Clean the play area before and after playgroup.

Requirements
▪ Have transportation and availability on one of the following days:

Monday: 10:30 am - 1:00 pm

Tuesday: 9:30 am - 12: 00 pm

Wednesday:  10:30 am -12: 00 pm

Thursday: 9:30 am - 1:00 pm

▪ Complete a background check and waiver forms, facilitated by RWC before commencement of volunteering.
▪ Volunteers should have an interest in working with children.
▪ Volunteers should be reliable and punctual.

Responsibilities
▪ Assist classroom teachers in our English as a New Language program.

▪ Under the teacher's supervision, work one one-on-one or in small groups with adult students.

Requirements

▪ Have transportation and availability on one of the following days:

Tuesday: 10:30 am - 12: 00 pm

Thursday: 10:30 am - 12:00 pm or 12:00 pm - 1:00pm

▪ Volunteers are not required to have teaching experience.
▪ Knowing another language would be helpful but not required. Our neighbors speak Pashto, Dari, Burmese, Karen, Turkish, Spanish, French, and other languages.
▪ Volunteers should be committed, reliable, and punctual.
