Classroom Aide

Learn and work amongst a classroom team, helping with the class daily routines and activities. This is a GREAT opportunity for students seeking experience with children, special needs, education, special education, applied behavior analysis, and working as a part of a team.

Athletes and Actives! Work with classroom teachers to lead gym/PE activities. Our students range in age from 2 to 10, and love being physical. We have a very easy curriculum to follow from Special Olympics!

Laminating, copying, cutting, materials set up, cleaning toys, filing, organizing- we always have lots to do, and extra hands are appreciated!

Come monthly, bi-weekly or weekly! We will have classes sign up for slots, come to you in the library, and you will read and have fun with them.

Staff will be accompanying their kiddos, so you will never manage behaviors - you are the fun person!

Hours are flexible - between 9:30 and 2 M-F, even during the summer. 

Are you handy with a hammer? Can you wield a screwdriver? Our classrooms are always coming up with things to be hung, fixed, or moved. Any hours/schedule during the school week that work for you are fine! We just need some help!

Rake mulch on the playground, maintain garden beds, and mow the courtyard lawn.

The UVOTE Voter Info Station provides students with non-partisan information about voter registration, absentee ballot request, and voter rights and responsibilities. 

Students volunteering for this role will be trained to answer most frequently asked questions and will be supported by experts from UVOTE and the Kenney Center for Community Engagement and Outreach. 

Tables are scheduled for Reamer front patio. 

Join UVOTE in promoting civic engagement on campus. National Voter Registration Day is an opportunity to ensure your classmates are prepared for the upcoming election and engagement with critical topics beyond election day.

Volunteers are needed to register students to vote, provide information about absentee ballot access, and support students in understanding their rights as voters. Training provided on-site.

The Science & Technology Entry Program (STEP) is a program that serves eligible students in grades 7-12 through STEM education. We are looking for Union College students who are interested in tutoring participants of the program. This is a great opportunity to be a mentor for a local student and gain tutoring experience.

This opportunity requires at least 1 hour per week. Weekly schedules are created based on the common availability of the Union student and STEP student. Sessions can take place on campus in Schaffer Library, or over Zoom. 

This position focuses on taking notes during monthly meetings and producing a set of minutes to track the organization's planning process. A student in this role will also serve as a liaison between this local community organization and Union College in planning community collaborations such as Earth Day Cleanup and family events in local parks. 

Must attend the organization's monthly meeting - held on the last Thursday of the month from 6:45PM - 8:30PM at Steinmetz Park, 2114 Lenox Rd, Schenectady, NY 12308 (1 mile from campus)

Experience a variety of fitness classes throughout the morning, including Yoga, HIIT, a Social Run, Aerial Yoga, Zumba, and Combat. Whether you’re a seasoned fitness enthusiast or just starting your wellness journey, there’s something for everyone!

In addition to our fitness offerings, we’ll have two pickleball courts set up for friendly competition and a cold plunge for those looking to refresh and recover.

Don’t miss our Volleyball Tournament running from 10 AM to 4 PM, where teams will compete for fun and prizes!
