Bolt Points
The Bolt Point program rewards Union College students for participation in campus and community life. Bolt Points can be earned in a variety of ways including attending campus events, engaging in college activities, and serving in the community. Full details about the program and prize redemption process can be found on Student Activities' UEngage platform.
Volunteer Hours Translate to Bolt Points
At the end of each academic term, the volunteer hours you have tracked in Community Connections that term will earn you Bolt Points.
| Each term that you complete | You will earn |
| 1 - 3.99 volunteer hours | 10 Bolt Points |
| 4 - 6.99 volunteer hours | 20 Bolt Points |
| 7 - 9.99 volunteer hours | 30 Bolt Points |
| 10 - 12.99 volunteer hours | 40 Bolt Points |
| 13 or more volunteer hours | 50 Bolt Points |
In addition to these cumulative hours, some signature Community Engagement events will be worth 10 Bolt Points on their own - while simultaneously contributing to your total hours. For example, hosting a station at Union's Community Carnival is worth 10 Bolt Points automatically; you will then achieve additional Bolt Points based on the hours you serve at that event.
In the fall and winter terms, hours must be logged by the last day of finals to earn Bolt Points; in the spring term hours must be logged by the end of Week 9 so you have time to redeem your points with Student Activities.
